This role is an overnight position, 7 pm- 5:30 am, on-site in Millington, Maryland. In this position, you MUST be able to train for 1 month on the first shift, 7 am - 330pm.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience working with brake press machinery in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop math required.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including protractors, calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges, is required. Candidates must be able to accurately read measurements to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Basic computer skills for entering production or quality data.
  • Team members must be able to safely perform a range of physical activities, including standing and walking for extended periods, with frequent use of hands for tasks requiring dexterity and grip.
  • Roles may require frequent bending, kneeling, and maintaining balance, with occasional climbing or repositioning to support production needs.
  • This position is classified as medium work, requiring the ability to lift, carry, or move materials up to 50 lbs occasionally, 30 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs consistently.
  • Employees must be able to effectively communicate, hear, and visually assess work to ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous knowledge of the construction industry is highly preferred.
  • Ability to drive a forklift preferred.
  • Experience with CNC/programmed brake press equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or 5S is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run brake press machinery, including choosing tooling and adjusting programs.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and job routings to determine machine settings and production requirements.
  • Perform trial runs and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy and part consistency.
  • Conduct in-process inspections, verifying parts meet tolerances and quality standards.
  • Follow safety protocols, maintain clean work areas, and perform minor maintenance.
  • Meet daily production targets for accuracy, speed, and quality while minimizing waste.
