The Press Brake Operator is accountable for safely operating the press brake, following safety and quality practices, and maintaining an organized work area. The role requires accurate use of measuring equipment and interpretation of blueprints, as well as the ability to think critically and set up machines. Once trained, the operator is expected to work independently with minimal assistance and to model the company’s values and manufacturing best practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Safety-conscious, with a high level of accountability.
• Quality-minded, with attention to detail.
• Competent machine operator.
• Ability to accurately read measuring equipment, including calipers, a height gauge, and a micrometer.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to think critically and understand machine setup.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to work independently with minimal assistance once trained.
• Demonstrates best practices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the press brake.
• Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete monthly safety audits and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Identify potential hazards and resolve them.
• Use measuring equipment accurately, including calipers, a height gauge, and a micrometer.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Notify appropriate support elements when non-conformances are identified.
• Think critically and understand how to set up machines.
• Work independently with minimal assistance once trained.
• Keep the work area organized and clean, maintaining 5S elements.
• Exemplify the company’s values, including excellence, integrity, and respect for the individual, and model the Beckett Cultural Foundations.
• Model general manufacturing best practices and demonstrate effective methods for completing tasks.
