About The Position

Metko, Inc. is seeking dependable people who care about their work, enjoy learning, and treat their teammates with respect for full-time Press Brake Operator openings on second and third shift. Whether you already have press brake experience or bring experience with other manufacturing equipment, we welcome your application. We can help mechanically inclined candidates develop the skills needed to operate our equipment and produce quality parts. You’ll work from manufacturing drawings and work orders, prepare equipment for assigned jobs, and check your work throughout the forming process. Setup responsibilities will reflect your training and demonstrated ability.

Requirements

  • Mechanical ability and an interest in hands-on manufacturing.
  • Attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, consistent parts.
  • Basic math skills, including working with fractions and measurements.
  • The ability to visualize how a flat piece of metal becomes a formed part.
  • Experience using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring tools—or a willingness to learn.
  • Blueprint-reading ability or an interest in developing that skill.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn machine controls.
  • Dependability, patience, problem-solving ability, and a cooperative attitude.
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous press brake experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience operating other manufacturing equipment is also valuable.
  • Sheet-metal and blueprint-reading skills can be developed on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press brake equipment to bend and form sheet-metal components.
  • Set up equipment and prepare assigned jobs according to work orders, training, and established procedures.
  • Read and follow manufacturing drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Position material and follow the required bending sequence to produce accurate parts.
  • Check formed parts for correct dimensions and angles using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns, making adjustments within your training and authorization.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Keep your equipment and work area clean and organized.
  • Follow established safety procedures and work cooperatively with teammates to meet quality and delivery expectations.
