This position works 2nd shift hours (3:15pm - 11:45pm) and is eligible for a $1.00 shift differential. The Press Brake Operator B is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating press brakes to perform a variety of forming and bending operations on various gauge materials to close dimensional requirements. This includes positioning, aligning, and securing forming dies, adjusting ram stroke, and setting stop gauges. While limited set-up knowledge is acceptable initially, the role requires 6 months of machine operation experience and the capability to perform basic press brake setups within 6 months, with ongoing learning for more advanced setups. The operator must meet established efficiency and productivity standards, determine the sequence of bends for complex operations, and improvise setups for special shapes. Work is performed from drawings, specifications, templates, and samples, utilizing various measuring tools. The position requires minimal supervision and is responsible for the quality of their own work, which is subject to inspection.
