About The Position

Printpack is seeking a Press Assistant for its VR2 facility in Villa Rica, Georgia. The role supports the press operator in preparing materials and equipment, operating efficiently, and monitoring product quality. The schedule is a 12-hour night shift from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on a 3/2 schedule. Pay is $18.77–$28.15 per hour, depending on experience, with an additional $2.50-per-hour night-shift premium, including for overtime and double-time hours. The position has long-term objectives of fulfilling an operator position.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw material rolls for printing.
• Place rolls in the machine and prepare them for splicing.
• Assist in removing rolls from the rewind.
• Remove and weigh startup rolls at the beginning of a job.
• Fill inks and maintain their viscosity.
• Change doctor blades and overfill pans.
• Remove and weigh waste from the machine’s unwind and rewind.
• Empty refuse containers.
• Make waste bales when the baler is full.
• Assist the operator as needed to support efficient operation and monitor product quality.
• Prepare the pre-setup of sleeves, mandrels, anilox, and inks.
• Perform daily housekeeping.
