The incumbent in this position serves as a personal assistant to the President of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and relieves the President of routine and time-consuming duties. May supervise 2-4 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Lead and support the exploration and implementation of special projects as requested by the President. Represent the President and TTUHSC with external constituents. Monitor and communicate state and federal funding opportunities that align with the strategic priorities within the Office of the President. Collaborate with stakeholders within TTUHSC to develop strategies and budgetary frameworks to support initiatives. Serve as an advisor of Governmental Relations during legislative sessions to monitor bills and provide analysis to the President. Develop and maintain excellent relationships with TTUHSC executive team members, campus administrators, the Board of Regents, community officials, and state government officials.
