About The Position

As president for Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township, assumes full operational responsibility as the senior executive for all aspects of the Kettering Health Miamisburg, Kettering Health Washington Township, and Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center campuses and Kettering Health Middletown, Kettering Health Franklin, and Sycamore Glen. Implements and coordinates strategic plan and facilitates KRA results for all the above listed entities. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business Administration)
  • Master’s Degree (preferably in Health Care Administration)
  • Appropriate continuing education courses
  • Knowledge in areas of health care finance, government regulations, planning and marketing, medical staff relations, management theory, reimbursement, budgeting, health care technology, interpersonal relationships, and other areas as appropriate.
  • Five or more years of administrative experience in health care management is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a major community teaching hospital environment is desirable.

  • Works closely with the corporate officers of Kettering Health in developing and achieving management and financial goals as well as fulfilling the mission of Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township.
  • Support Kettering Health’s commitment to performance excellence through the intentional use of the Baldridge National Quality Program health care criteria.
  • Organizes and leads Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township efforts to achieve cost reduction targets and expand market share.
  • Is knowledgeable and current in the application of management theory and technique.
  • Is knowledgeable and current in the regulations, technology and state-of-the-art applications.
  • Works closely with directors to ensure that the budget targets are developed and reached on a calendar year schedule.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that all services provided including those by arrangement, agreement or contract complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves on various committees as appropriate within the scope of medical center responsibilities.
  • Participates appropriately in Kettering Health committees and sees that Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township are fairly represented.
  • Ensures Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township operations and facilities meet all ACHC and CMS standards for life safety and that Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township meet ACHC and CMS standards.
  • Monitors Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township operations so budget is achieved.
  • Demonstrated up-to-date job knowledge.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, & adherence to, departmental policies & procedures.
  • Uses medical center resources efficiently.
  • Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Recommends changes and/or interpret medical center policies, objectives, and operational procedures.
  • Resolves problems concerning such areas as staffing, utilization of medical center facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Participates in community activities to promote the goodwill and positive image of Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township and the mission.
  • Attends meetings of professional, civic, and service organizations and contribute to a leadership role as deemed appropriate.
  • Responds positively to direction from supervisor professionally accepting constructive criticism.
  • Supports and encourages an undergraduate and graduate medical education program at Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township working with the appropriate higher education institutions in promoting careers in health care.
  • Conducts routine meetings with Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township Leadership.
  • Works with departments to initiate appropriate capital investments that both increase revenue and improve Kettering Health Miamisburg and Kettering Health Washington Township physical plants.
  • Works closely with Senior Leadership and other appropriate staff on the development of strategic initiatives surrounding physician recruitment and business development.
  • Provides leadership, direction, and coordination of operations in a manner consistent with organizational mission and objectives.
  • Assumes responsibility for all aspects of internal and external operations and programs which include fiscal and general operations, patient care operations, professional services, marketing, community relations, spiritual care, and human resources related to areas of oversight.
  • Develops, models, coaches the champions, sponsors, and mangers of various strategic initiatives, in collaboration with individual local and system leaders, who have operational responsibilities Kettering Health Miamisburg, Kettering Health Washington Township, and Kettering Health Behavioral Medical Center campuses and Kettering Health Middletown, Kettering Health Franklin, and Sycamore Glen.
