About The Position

Agape Childcare Staffing places substitute teachers in preschools and day schools when regular staff are out. Depending on the day and classroom, you may step in as the lead teacher running the classroom independently, or as an assistant supporting the lead — we'll always let you know which role you're filling before you arrive. Availability Preferred: open availability Monday–Friday, full-day. Minimum accepted: at least 3 weekdays per week, full-day availability. On-demand assignments — you accept the days that work for your schedule within your availability window. Pay & Schedule: Competitive hourly pay, paid weekly. W-2 employee (not 1099) — no chasing invoices. Flexible day-to-day assignments within your set availability. Starting Rate $18/hr and opportunity to earn up to $20/hour over time by demonstrating consistent attendance, reliability, and strong performance.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a classroom, daycare, or preschool setting
• Reliable, full-day availability on your committed weekdays
• Comfortable adapting to different classrooms and age groups on short notice
• Must be able to pass a background check and reference check
• Must be able to actively supervise, move around the classroom, and lift up to 30 lbs as needed for the physical demands of childcare (accommodations available — contact us to discuss)

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Lead a classroom independently when assigned as lead teacher, following the school's existing lesson plans and routines
• Support the lead teacher with activities, transitions, and supervision when assigned as an assistant
• Maintain a safe, structured, nurturing environment for children
• Follow each school's classroom procedures and ratios
• Communicate professionally with school staff and directors
