About The Position

Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning parks and recreation agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational programs, classes, and events as well as facilities, parks and open spaces. Our Early Childhood Preschool is home to 11 classrooms of high-quality pre-kindergarten education for 2 ½- to 4-year-olds in addition to a wide variety of early childhood programming, summer camps, parties and special events.

Requirements

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in any other field of study with a minimum of twelve (12) Early Childhood credit hours (with DCFS approval).
Sixteen (16) hours of in-service training each year is also required.
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required (we provide!).

Responsibilities

Leading preschool classes in accordance with adopted guidelines, policies, procedures, and budget.
Developing weekly lesson plans.
Establishing and maintaining positive communication with parents through daily communication and parent/teacher conferences twice a year.
Creating a space that is conducive to learning.
Maintaining attendance records.
Maintaining student information and medical files.
