About The Position

Magical Beginnings is an award-winning collection of Early Childhood Education Centers serving communities and families in Massachusetts. We are hiring a Classroom Teacher in our Preschool wing. This exciting, high-energy role focuses on the development and education of preschool-age children from 3 to 6 years of age. This role requires a creative, positive, engaging team player who wants to have lots of fun and work hard with likeminded educators.

Requirements

EEC Teacher Preschool Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (required)
Daycare experience in a center-based, private, or public school setting
An energetic approach to learning and an positive attitude
Curiosity, creativity, and a strong team-focused mindset
Flexibility to work an 8-hour shift within the operating hours of the school, including opening and closing shifts
Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
Attentiveness, strong time management, and strong collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Collaborating with your co-teacher to equally prepare curriculum, lesson plans, materials, and monthly newsletters.
Keeping parents informed by posting parent information on the Class Dojo app and classroom boards.
Providing a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing classrooms.
Encouraging children’s participation by providing age-appropriate interactive activities.
Maintaining cleanliness of the classroom: routine opening/closing of the classroom (including, but not limited to wiping down the toys, cleaning tables, vacuuming the room, sanitizing the room (after all children have left), bathrooms, emptying trash, and overall preparation of the classroom for the next morning.
Engaging with students in free play, supervising/zone during outdoor time, helping with bathroom needs and diapering, snack and meal assistance (preparing snacks, heating up lunches, cutting up food, helping open containers, supervision), naptime assistance, etc.
Adhering to the school's structured schedules.
Tracking children’s progress and completing assessments.
Maintaining your EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
Attending monthly staff meetings.
Creating a fun and safe learning environment for your students.
Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
