About The Position

As an Preschool Teacher at Merryhill School, you will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning by creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for our youngest students. Whether working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, you will foster curiosity, independence, and confidence through purposeful play and hands-on learning. Your classroom will be a warm, joyful space where each child feels supported and celebrated. You will also: Plan, supervise, and implement age-appropriate curriculum focused on early literacy, language development, math concepts, motor skills, and social-emotional growth Create a classroom culture that nurtures each child’s individuality while promoting curiosity and confidence Provide a structured yet playful environment through intentional, developmentally appropriate activities Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership to align with program goals and best practices Maintain regular, positive communication with families through daily updates, reports, and conferences Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, licensing regulations, and developmental standards

Requirements

  • 12 semester (or 18 quarter) ECE units covering child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Associate Certification CDA) preferred
  • Prior early childhood teaching experience preferred
