About The Position

Expressive Beginnings Child Care, a locally owned and operated childcare center, is seeking a warm, caring person passionate about working with children ages 3 through 5. The Preschool Teacher facilitates learning through play and child-initiated interests in a fun, supportive, active, and dynamic childcare environment. The center emphasizes dignity and respect and celebrates individual strengths and talents. Requirements

An associate degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field; a CDA credential; or daycare-program experience with a plan to pursue an associate degree or CDA credential.
Applicants with alternate educational backgrounds will be considered if they are willing to pursue education in early childhood.
Demonstrated knowledge of New York State childcare regulations.
Ability to get down on the floor to play and lift up to 45 pounds.
A sensitive, mature person who relates well to children and adults.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and supervise the classroom program in accordance with center policies, philosophy, and curriculum.
Keep the classroom in compliance with New York State regulations.
Maintain required documentation.
Adapt the program to individual children’s interests, special needs, talents, and pace of learning.
Teach and provide appropriate care related to toileting, nutrition, dental health, physical care, and cleaning children when necessary.
Maintain the classroom’s organization, appearance, décor, and learning environment.
Communicate with parents about their child and daily activities at the center, and inform the director of parent concerns.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and conferences.
