About The Position
Saint Brigid of Kildare Preschool is seeking a teacher's assistant for a part time (less than 20 hours a week) position for the 2026-27 school year. Assists the lead preschool teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment while supporting children’s learning, development, and daily routines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience working with young children as well as some basic knowledge of child development theory
- Current satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks
- Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training
Nice To Haves
- Practicing Catholic preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher in supervision of children, preparation of activities, and observation of individual children
- Assist with clean-up activities
- Work cooperatively with staff and parents
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training
- Notify director in event of absence
- Refer parents to lead teacher for questions concerning child’s progress
- Any other duties as assigned
