Preschool Teacher Assistant
About The Position
Little Lukes Preschool and Children Center is seeking a part-time Preschool Assistant Teacher in an inclusive preschool setting in Dewitt, New York. The assistant teacher supports children ages 3 to 5 alongside Certified Lead Teachers and Special Education Teachers, contributing to their care, education, development, and social-emotional growth. The role includes helping children build academic and social skills in preparation for kindergarten through language-based whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one interactions. The assistant also helps maintain a positive, engaging, and structured classroom with clear expectations and routines. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., following the school calendar. Compensation is $17 to $22 per hour.

Nice To Haves
- Active New York State Teacher Assistant certification; certification is not required, and the company will pay for it.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care and instruction to preschool children ages 3 to 5 in inclusive classrooms.
- Support children’s educational, developmental, and social-emotional growth alongside a Lead Teacher and Special Education Teacher.
- Assist in teaching developmentally appropriate academic and social skills to help prepare children for kindergarten.
- Engage children through language-based whole-group, small-group, and one-on-one interactions.
- Help create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment that encourages children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
- Implement effective classroom management.
- Help establish and reinforce classroom expectations and routines.
