About The Position

Community of Faith (COF) Weekday Preschool is a Christ-centered early childhood program dedicated to providing a safe, loving, educational, and faith-based environment for children ages 18 months through Pre-K. Our mission is to partner with families to help children grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and academically while building a foundation for a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. At COF, we believe teaching preschool is more than a job—it is a ministry and an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families all while getting them ready to enter Kindergarten with confidence. Community of Faith Weekday Preschool is seeking caring, dependable, enthusiastic individuals who love God and enjoy working with young children. Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with preschool-aged children (18 months – 5+ years old)
  • Childcare, preschool, church nursery, VBS, Sunday School, teaching, or related experience
  • CPR and First Aid certification (we will offer)
  • College coursework in education or Child Development Associate is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment
  • Supervise children at all times
  • Implement daily lesson plans and activities
  • Participate in centers, enrichment activities, outdoor play, and special events
  • Encourage age-appropriate social, emotional, and academic development
  • Model Christian values and positive behavior
  • Support children in developing independence and confidence
  • Work collaboratively with co-teachers, assistants, and administration
  • Communicate effectively with staff and families
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and special events
  • Follow classroom schedules and school procedures
  • Maintain active supervision of children at all times
  • Follow all Community of Faith policies and procedures
  • Follow Texas Health and Human Services Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
  • Report concerns, injuries, incidents, or licensing issues immediately
  • Participate in emergency drills and safety procedures
  • Learn and follow COF Preschool policies and procedures
  • Become knowledgeable regarding Texas Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards
  • Complete all required training and professional development hours
  • Attend staff meetings, training days, CPR/First Aid certification, and other required events
  • Represent Community of Faith Preschool positively both on and off campus
  • Demonstrate a servant-hearted attitude toward children, families, coworkers, and church leadership
