About The Position

Granby Elementary Preschool is seeking a caring, dependable, and collaborative Preschool Paraprofessional / Early Educator to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting young learners' academic, social, and emotional growth in an inclusive preschool setting. The position involves creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, including leading or assisting with instruction, classroom routines, assessment support, student supervision, family engagement, and upholding health and safety standards. Depending on qualifications, candidates may be considered for varying levels of Early Educator responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication, organization, and flexibility skills
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and actively engage with young children throughout the day
  • Willingness to complete required training and ongoing professional development

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead or Support implementation of daily lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Assist children with daily routines, transitions, toileting, meals/snacks, and social-emotional learning
  • Provide small group and individual instructional support
  • Plan and/or follow strategies and accommodations as directed by the Lead Teacher, ECSE teacher, therapists, and support staff
  • Support students with IEP goals and classroom modifications as directed
  • Monitor student safety at all times indoors, outdoors, and during transitions
  • Lead or Support implementation of developmentally appropriate practices
  • Collect Teaching Strategies GOLD (TS GOLD) data and documentation
  • Implement and/or support Incredible Years social-emotional curriculum and related data collection
  • Plan and/or Assist with classroom material preparation and organization
  • Plan and/or support classroom setup, organization, and daily cleanup
  • Prepare snacks/meals and maintain food safety procedures
  • Follow health and safety procedures for sanitizing, diapering, hazardous materials, and classroom cleanliness
  • Diaper and support toileting needs according to OSHA/CDHS standards
  • Maintain engaging and organized classroom spaces
  • Plan and participate in family events, conferences, and school activities
  • Collaborate positively with co-teacher, related service providers, and preschool team members
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
  • Maintain active PDIS account and required documentation
  • Complete all required CDHS training, including minimum annual professional development hours
  • Participate in preschool and building meetings, Quality Rating activities, and required school duties
  • Complete training in Teaching Strategies GOLD, Incredible Years, Conscious Discipline, Pyramid Plus, and other required practices as assigned
