About The Position

Join Our Caring Team at LeafSpring Schools! At LeafSpring Schools, we go beyond traditional child care. Our unique on-site Get Well Place sets us apart by offering short-term care for mildly ill children while supporting wellness throughout the campus. We’re currently seeking a Part Time Preschool Nurse to join our leadership team and champion child wellness, illness prevention, and health education for our students and staff. The Preschool Nurse is responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality pediatric nursing care within our school, with a focus on infection control, chronic illness management, and child development support. This role provides health oversight across campus and leads the Get Well Place—our in-house care center for sick children.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Active and unrestricted RN or LPN license (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric, school nurse, or community health nursing experience
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, medication documentation, and child illness policies
  • Proficient in basic technology and electronic health documentation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional school teams
  • A genuine passion for working with children in a preschool or early learning center setting

Nice To Haves

  • School Nurse, Pediatric RN, Public Health Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Prior experience in early childhood education, daycare health services, or preschool wellness
  • Experience in care coordination, staff supervision, or nursing in community-based environments

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to children with minor illnesses, chronic conditions, and injuries
  • Manage the daily operation of the Get Well Place, ensuring compliance with state and local health regulations
  • Perform daily health screenings and wellness checks across the student population
  • Implement individualized health care plans in collaboration with families and teachers as needed
  • Coordinate medication administration, immunization records, and emergency care protocols
  • Act as a liaison between families, staff, and pediatric health providers
  • Conduct staff training on basic safety protocols, hygiene practices, and communicable disease prevention
  • Monitor and document all health-related incidents, exposures, and care outcomes
  • Support children with special medical needs, developmental delays, or allergies in the classroom setting
  • Participate in Quality Assurance inspections, licensing visits, and health audits
  • Stay current with public health trends and integrate best practices into daily procedures
