About the Role: As a Preschool Multi-Classroom Teacher at Heritage Oak, you will provide consistent, high-quality instructional support across multiple preschool classrooms. You will partner with classroom teachers and step into the lead teaching role as needed to maintain continuity, implement our developmentally appropriate curriculum, and create safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environments for young children. This full-time, hourly role is ideal for an adaptable early childhood educator who enjoys collaborating with different teaching teams and building meaningful relationships with children and families throughout the preschool program.

Requirements

Completion of at least 12 semester units—or 18 quarter units—in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development or a related field
Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed early childhood education setting preferred
Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively across multiple classrooms, age groups, routines, and teaching teams
Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills
A nurturing, dependable, and flexible approach to supporting young children
Ability to meet the physical demands of an early childhood classroom and satisfy all state licensing, health, and background-check requirements

Nice To Haves

12 semester units or 18 quarter units in early childhood education, including coursework in child development, child/family/community, and curriculum; or a bachelor’s degree in Child Development
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting preferred
Ability to work effectively across multiple classrooms, age groups, and instructional environments
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills
Patience, adaptability, compassion, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young children
Ability to support a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in active play
Ability to successfully complete all required background-check and state-licensing requirements

Responsibilities

Support multiple preschool classrooms and age groups based on daily program and staffing needs
Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and learning experiences that foster early literacy, language, math, motor, creative, and social-emotional development
Step into the lead teaching role when needed, maintaining classroom routines, lesson continuity, and a positive learning environment
Provide attentive supervision and use positive behavior-guidance strategies that support each child’s growth and well-being
Observe student development and communicate relevant progress, needs, and classroom information to teaching teams and school leadership
Maintain organized, inviting classrooms and ensure materials, learning centers, and shared spaces are prepared for instruction
Build professional, responsive relationships with families and provide appropriate updates about classroom experiences
Follow all school policies, health and safety practices, and applicable state licensing requirements
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff, and participate in staff meetings, training, school events, and professional development
