About The Position

Position is for the 26-27 school year which is Mid-August 2026 through Mid-May 2027. Schedule: Tues/Thurs 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM + 2 planning hours/week. The role involves teaching age-appropriate concepts to preschoolers, developing lessons that meet children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs, and regularly communicating with parents and guardians regarding their children. The position also requires incorporating Biblical concepts and activities, maintaining a positive, nurturing and loving environment, appropriately managing behavior and safety with children, and leading, organizing and directing children through routine activity. Housekeeping duties in the classroom, such as cleaning and sanitizing toys, cribs, swings, etc., are also part of the responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • As a religious organization, all employees must agree to conduct themselves in a way that does not undermine or contradict the contents of the church's Doctrinal Statement and Statement on Marriage and human sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for employment with Northwest Bible Church. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.

  • Have a joyful passion for children and genuine interest in educating them
  • High level of teaching skills and patience, including excellent communication skills, written and verbal, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a teaching partner and team
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance and to perform physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, standing, lifting, carrying and moving quickly

Responsibilities

  • Teach age-appropriate concepts to preschoolers.
  • Develop lessons that meet children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs.
  • Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children.
  • Incorporate Biblical concepts and Biblical activities in lessons and throughout the day.
  • Maintain a positive, nurturing and loving environment.
  • Appropriately manage behavior and safety with children, recommending or initiating measures to improve or modify as needed.
  • Lead, organize and direct children through routine activity.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in classroom, such as cleaning and sanitizing toys, cribs, swings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
