About The Position

The Lead Teacher for the Preschool class is responsible for planning and implementing daily curriculum and activities as well as classroom management. Develop daily schedules with learning outcomes and monitor children’s attendance, progress and communicate/update parents. Follow safety guidelines while providing a safe and comfortable environment for the children. Offer quality customer service. Additional duties include but are not limited to, promoting the preschool program, room set up and regular cleaning, attending staff meetings and trainings, research and purchase of educational materials and supplies, and other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age or older
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience required
  • Friendly and creative with the desire to engage and educate children
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written format
  • Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act calmly and effectively under pressure or in difficult situations
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required (will be provided if not current)

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education
  • Relevant combination of training and experience
  • Solid computer and keyboard skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
