About The Position

The Preschool Lead Teacher will be responsible for structuring the learning environment and daily routine using the provided curriculum, adhering to standards of practice set by Thrive to Five leadership. This role involves creating and implementing individualized plans to meet diverse child needs, using data to inform lesson plans, and performing developmental screenings and evaluations. The teacher will also ensure health and safety procedures are followed, provide active supervision, plan gross motor activities, and teach about health, sanitation, and nutrition. Additionally, the position requires implementing social-emotional practices and behavior support plans, fostering family engagement, and maintaining professionalism by adhering to policies and participating in professional development. Administrative duties include classroom preparation, lesson planning, maintaining certifications, and timely communication.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in early childhood education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education.
  • Maintain required certifications and licenses.

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education with PA Teaching Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Use the curriculum to structure the learning environment and daily routine.
  • Follow standards of practice outlined by Thrive to Five leadership.
  • Provide weekly written plans for instruction aligned with PA Early Learning Standards.
  • Create and implement individualized plans to meet the diverse needs of children.
  • Use data collected on individual children to inform lesson plans and activities.
  • Perform required developmental screenings and evaluations and share results with families.
  • Follow all safety and health procedures as outlined by regulatory standards.
  • Provide active supervision of children at all times.
  • Plan daily gross motor activities.
  • Follow meal service standards and teach about health, sanitation, and nutrition.
  • Assist with ensuring all children receive required health screenings.
  • Teach children proper safety skills and hygiene practices.
  • Follow procedures when assisting children with toileting, diapering, teeth brushing, and rest time.
  • Implement social-emotional universal practices and behavior support plans.
  • Teach and model social-emotional skills.
  • Implement behavior support plans as needed.
  • Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for families.
  • Facilitate parent engagement events.
  • Follow all CAP and Thrive to Five policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Early Learning Supervisor to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in professional development and job-related training.
  • Foster supportive relationships with co-workers, community partners, families, and volunteers.
  • Prepare, update, and close the classroom.
  • Plan lessons and maintain required certifications and licenses.
  • Participate in committee work and respond to communications in a timely manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
