Preschool Lead Teacher
About The Position
Little Lukes is seeking a Lead Teacher for their preschool program. This is a full-time, 12-month position located in Dewitt, NY. The Lead Teacher will work within an inclusive classroom setting alongside a Special Education Teacher and Teacher Assistants to support the development and education of preschool children, ages 3 to 5 years. The role involves teaching age-appropriate academic and social skills to prepare children for kindergarten through various interaction methods. The Lead Teacher will also be responsible for creating a positive and structured learning environment, implementing classroom management, preparing goals and instructional materials, coordinating curriculum, and communicating with team members, administrators, and parents. Requirements
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Example: Elementary Education).
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to share feedback across teams in a collaborative and solution-oriented way.
- Passion for the mission to offer the best care and education for local children and their families.
- Expertise in delivering care for the educational, developmental, and social emotional growth of the children.
- A warm, engaging approach with a family-centered focus.

Nice To Haves
- An active NYS Teacher certification is preferred.
- NYS Certified Teachers follow School Calendar schedule plus 6 weeks summer session.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and education of preschool children, ages 3 to 5 years, within inclusive classrooms alongside a Special Education Teacher and certified TAs.
- Teach developmentally appropriate academic and social skills to prepare children for kindergarten through strong, language-based, whole group, small group, and one-on-one interactions.
- Create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment where children are encouraged to be curious and excited to learn.
- Implement effective classroom management.
- Set and reinforce classroom expectations and routines.
- Prepare goals and instructional materials.
- Coordinate curriculum implementation with the preschool team.
- Communicate with team members, administrators, and parents regarding children’s development and behavior.
