About The Position

Teach and monitor preschool children ages 3 to 6 years to provide appropriate experiences that are consistent with preschool goals and objectives. Develop and maintain daily lesson plans and activities which meet the early childhood core learning curriculum components and Gte-Ga-Nes standards. Collaborate with parents/guardians to identify the strengths and needs of each child in order to individualize program services and provides assessment of each child’s developmental strengths and needs on a regular basis. Work with area schools, other FCP departments and staff, outside providers, and family and community members to offer best practices and quality care for the children. Monitor children’s activities at all times, interact and guide regularly, and intervene when necessary. Ride bus as a monitor as needed. Attend and assists in coordinating family events, field trips, other activities, flexing work hours when needed.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or related field required
  • Five (5) years or more of experience in an Early Childhood position
  • Must possess Shaken Baby Syndrome certificate and infant/child CPR training (or obtain immediately upon hire & before supervising children)
  • Must have no convictions or pending charges of any “Crimes substantially related to the care of children” and pass State & Federal Caregiver Background Checks
  • Proficiency in writing and oral communication, computer, and record-keeping skills
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
