About The Position

This is a seasonal position as a Preschool Instructor for the Appletots Learning Center. The role involves providing instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for children aged 2-5, effective verbal communication with parents and children, encouraging participation, and creating lesson plans. Additional duties include maintaining attendance records, communicating with the Coordinator and other instructors, staying current with class trends, and performing First Aid if needed.

Requirements

• Be a strong communicator and class leader, providing a safe, fun, and challenging class for the participants.
• Minimum high school degree or equivalent.
• Ability to provide an instructional and fun class environment.
• Ability to work assigned class schedule.
• Current certification in First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Wear appropriate City uniform.
• Adhere to and implement the City of Appleton and Departmental policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Certifications in Early Childhood preferred and/or teaching degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for developmentally appropriate learning activities for ages 2-5.
• Effective verbal communication with parents and young children.
• Encourage children to participate in activities through positive reinforcement and follow program guidelines for disciplining children, parent communication, class format, etc.
• Create lesson plans to develop fine and gross motor activities.
• Contribute to program ideas for enhancing the curriculum, assist with material preparation.
• Maintain class attendance records.
• Effectively communicate with Coordinator and other preschool instructors.
• Keep current in class trends.
• Perform First Aid if needed.
