About The Position

At the Y, we believe a child's earliest years lay the foundation for lifelong learning, healthy development, and future success. As an Infant/Toddler Teacher, you will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children ages 6 weeks to 3 years can learn, grow, and thrive. Through responsive caregiving, meaningful interactions, and developmentally appropriate experiences, you will help foster each child's social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development while building strong partnerships with families. Your work directly supports the Y's mission of strengthening communities by helping our youngest participants develop the confidence, curiosity, and skills they need for success in school and life.

Requirements

At least 1 year of early childhood education or licensed childcare experience.
A High School Diploma or GED.
Maryland 90-Hour Child Care Certification.
Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices for children ages 0-3.
Ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, families, members, and fellow Y associates.
Patience, warmth, good judgment, flexibility, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities
