The Preschool for All Expansion (PFAE) Manager ensures the programmatic quality of PFAE programming at all partner childcare provider sites. This role collaborates with the Early Childhood Education team and Family Services team to ensure quality early care and education programming is offered to all children and families in the program. The PFAE Manager is responsible for establishing plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of children, evaluating site needs, devising training strategies, and monitoring professional development. This position also ensures statutory training requirements are met, develops and presents training programs, and hires, trains, and monitors PELS teachers. Additionally, the role provides guidance on effective coaching, occasionally substitutes for teachers, and ensures childcare partners work with social service agencies to meet enrollment standards. The PFAE Manager leverages other YWCA programs to support partner providers and assists with teacher recruitment and screening. This role coordinates training and technical assistance with the Childcare Resource and Referrals’ Quality team to meet contract deliverables, effectively manages the budget, and accurately enters data for reporting. The PFAE Manager hires and oversees staff, actively participates in YWCA events, builds relationships with stakeholders, and maintains a strong understanding of State of Illinois and PFAE regulations.
