About The Position

This position is for a Full Time Preschool Floater Teacher at Lakeshore's Kids & Company Child Development Center, located at Lakeshore headquarters in Carson. The role involves facilitating a daily classroom schedule and instruction, creating and maintaining a positive learning environment, developing strategies for positive child behavior, observing and assessing children's growth, implementing center curriculum, supporting childcare safety and quality, working with parents, maintaining facilities, and supporting fellow teachers. The center offers an outstanding curriculum, parent participation, and a supportive staff, with classroom supplies provided. The program is a full-day program with a Nature Explore® classroom.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Child Development / Early Childhood required, with at least 12 ECE units completed.
  • Child Mandated Reporter Training (Certificate of Completion)
  • ESMA Certified Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid
  • Minimum 1 year of classroom experience
  • Current Pediatric First Aid & CPR certified with anaphylaxis and asthma training
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of child development, creative classroom environments and best practices, with a good understanding of the California Preschool Learning Foundations & California Infant/Toddler Curriculum Framework
  • Experience working with infants to 6-year-olds or working with 2.5 - 3.5-year-olds, including familiarity with potty training routines and protocols
  • Open form of communication that’s adaptable to children, adults and staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to provide care for infants/pre-k age level as needed
