About The Position

If you are seeking a dynamic and challenging role in supporting the early development of toddler and preschool children within an inclusive child care environment, THRIVE has a position for you. Using a family-centred, strengths-based approach, our experienced and dedicated professional staff build on the child’s unique strengths, gifts and talents so that they and their families can truly THRIVE! We are looking for Registered Preschool Educator to work as part of a team, assist in the day-to-day operations, and share responsibility for the children enrolled at our onsite preschool program. Within this role you will assist in curriculum development, implement, and support individual support plans, and maintain a safe, routine based and organized environment.

Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Child Care & Early Years Act
  • Ability to lift and move children and equipment as required
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, balanced with a commitment to a collaborative team approach.
  • Sensitive to linguistic, cultural, social, economic, individual and positional differences among staff, providers and children/families served.
  • Ability to organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced service-oriented environment
  • Committed to working within a family-centred approach
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, written, presentation and listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Competency in using various computer tools such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Internet.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and vulnerable sector screen (CPIC)
  • First Aid and C.P.R. Certification is required
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a licensed child care facility
  • Experience working with children with special needs is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in both official languages is an asset

Responsibilities
