About The Position

The Learning Experience – Worcester is seeking a dependable and organized Preschool Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in our early childhood education center. As our Preschool Cook, you'll play an important role in providing a positive mealtime experience while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• ServSafe Certification required
• Previous cooking or food preparation experience required (childcare or school setting preferred)
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious breakfasts, lunches, and snacks that meet state and center nutritional guidelines
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage procedures
• Monitor food allergies and dietary restrictions to ensure every child's safety
• Communicate daily menus and allergy information with classroom teachers
• Maintain food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and inspection-ready
• Maintain accurate temperature logs, inventory records, and required documentation
• Ensure compliance with Massachusetts health regulations and center policies
