About The Position
This is a 1.0 FTE vacancy, grade A-09 187 days, located at Grace Hopper-Pathways. The role involves providing support to the teacher and students, communicating with parents, and being a collaborative team player. The assistant must be willing to work under teacher direction and supervision and effectively with staff, parents, and children.
Requirements
- Experience working with students
- Experience working in a elementary school setting
- Clear understanding of the educational needs of students, which includes, but not limited to, assistance with physical, or sensory needs
- Must be reliable, dependable and flexible
- Assistants must meet the requirements of the NCLB and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) at the time of hire
- A high school diploma
- An Associate Degree or two years of college study
- At least 60 semester hours, OR a 455 on the parapro test
