About The Position

This position is for the 26-27 school year which is Mid-August 2026 through Mid-May 2027. The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The role involves maintaining a positive, nurturing, and loving environment for children, assisting the lead teacher with classroom setup, snack preparation, and managing children's belongings. The assistant teacher will also help lead and organize children through routine activities, engage with children during pickup times, and be responsible for post-class cleanup. All other responsibilities will be assigned by the classroom lead teacher.

Requirements

• Must agree to conduct themselves in a way that does not undermine or contradict the contents of the church's Doctrinal Statement and Statement on Marriage and human sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for employment with Northwest Bible Church.
• Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord.
• Have a joyful passion for children and genuine interest in caring for them.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a teaching partner and team.
• Ability to be flexible.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Able to lift 40 pounds without assistance.
• Able to perform physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, standing, lifting, carrying and moving quickly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, nurturing, and loving environment.
• Assist with set up of the room per lead teacher instructions prior to children’s arrival.
• Assist with snack preparations by getting the juice/crackers, etc.
• Receive bags/lunch and place appropriately in the classroom as children and parents are arriving.
• Assist with leading, organizing and directing the children through each routine activity.
• Play with children as they wait for parents to pick them up.
• Clean mats, vacuum, tidy room, and place dirty sheets/blankets in laundry room after children have left.
• All other responsibilities as assigned by the classroom lead teacher.
