About The Position

Preschool Assistant Teacher – Ages 3–6 Are you passionate about working with preschool-aged children in a nurturing, Montessori environment? Join our team at Cantera Montessori in Georgetown! Our beautiful school is designed to support each child’s natural curiosity, independence, confidence, and emotional growth. At Cantera Montessori, we believe in creating a loving and consistent environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore the world around them. Our fully implemented Montessori programs foster independence, creativity, problem-solving, and strong social connections, helping children develop confidence and a deep love for learning. Our Hawthorne Primary Community serves children ages 3–6, providing a beautiful, hands-on learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, make choices, develop practical life skills, build friendships, and become increasingly independent. Our Hawthorne Community serves 24 children with 2 teachers: 1 Lead Guide and 1 Assistant Teacher.

Requirements

Experience or a strong desire to work with preschool-aged children.
Eagerness to learn and grow as educators.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, supportive teaching team.
Interest in exploring Montessori education and philosophy.

Responsibilities

Assist in creating a nurturing, Montessori environment for children aged 3-6.
Support children's natural curiosity, independence, confidence, and emotional growth.
Foster independence, creativity, problem-solving, and social connections.
Engage children in hands-on learning experiences such as gardening, cooking, art, practical life, science, and STEM activities.
Help preschoolers develop into confident, capable, and independent learners.
Build strong connections with children and families.
