About The Position

The Preschool Assistant Director serves as a key member of the preschool leadership team and works closely with the Preschool Director to support the daily operations, educational excellence, spiritual development, enrollment growth, and regulatory compliance of the preschool program. This position provides leadership to staff, supports families, assists with curriculum implementation, oversees operational functions, and helps maintain a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment for children. The Assistant Director serves as a representative of Rancho Community Church and Christian Schools and is expected to model Christian values while supporting the mission and vision of the preschool. The position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed to support school operations, enrollment activities, staff development, and occasional evening or weekend events. Participation in school-sponsored events is required, including but not limited to Open House, Back-to-School Night, Vision Night, fundraising events, graduation ceremonies, parent education events, and occasional evening or weekend activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 ECE units required.
  • Experience with California Title 22 regulations required.
  • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Mandated Reporter Training certification.
  • Models Christian character and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, staff, and community members.
  • Understands the mission, vision, values, and Statement of Faith of Rancho Community Church and Christian Schools.
  • Integrates biblical principles into leadership and daily decision-making.
  • Active member of Rancho Community Church or another church with doctrine aligned with Rancho.
  • Thorough understanding of the ministry of Christian Schools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email communication, and student information systems.
  • Ability to utilize social media platforms and digital marketing tools effectively.
  • Ability to learn and utilize preschool management software.
  • Able to sit, stoop, bend, lift, reach, stand and walk for sustained periods of time
  • Able to use hands and fingers to perform tasks.
  • Able to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate effectively.
  • Able to work in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Able to lift or pull at least 50 pounds
  • Able to speak, read, and write in English

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of preschool leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience supervising staff and working with families is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director and teachers to establish, evaluate, and revise curriculum
  • Assist the Director with planning, managing, marketing and directing a preschool program
  • Teach and mentor children when needed
  • Maintain paperwork, keeping files on each child and proof of meeting government regulations
  • Supervise and evaluate teachers, provide mentoring and training to help teachers improve their skills
  • Attend all required professional developments and meetings
  • Place orders for textbooks, supplies, etc from the approved budget
  • Under the lead of the Director, oversee the process for student registration and withdrawals, including management of waiting lists, using technology integration when possible
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate school and child records in strict compliance with Title 22
  • Participate in Rancho Christian Special events, such as but not limited to Vision Night, Rancho Gala, Open House and Back to School Night and other preschool special events
  • Ability to problem solve in a variety of programming, staff and parent situations
  • Assist the Director in assessing and updating curriculum as needed
  • Assist the Director in planning and facilitating monthly staff meetings
  • Assist in ascertaining staff needs for in-service training on specific topics at monthly staff meetings
  • Assist in providing devotionals and spiritual enrichment at meetings
  • Social Media responsibilities include managing and creating content for platforms like Instagram and Facebook to build brand awareness and visibility,foster an audience community, and drive an increase of students.Handle tasks such as scheduling posts, analyzing data, and monitoring trends. Respond to comments, manage community engagement and analyze performance metrics.

  • Create content and photos for social media channels as a marketing tool
  • Reply to social media posts when appropriate
  • Conduct marketing research/date comparisons of preschool website/social media channels
  • Collaborate and/or consult with Rancho Marketing Department when appropriate
  • Compose and distribute CDC information when a communicable disease impacts class(es)
  • Review and lead all emergency situations, such as and not limited to natural disasters, threats on campus, etc including classroom
  • Perform other duties as assigned
