About The Position

The School of Imagination and Happy Talkers is the leading inclusive early childhood education and multidisciplinary intervention program for neurodiverse learners, bringing out the extraordinary in every child. This role is designed for someone early in their early childhood education journey — you don't need completed ECE coursework to start, just a genuine interest in working with young children and a willingness to begin (or continue) your ECE units while you learn on the job alongside our lead teachers. You'll always work under the direct supervision of a fully qualified teacher — you're never solely responsible for a child or classroom on your own. This is a supported, hands-on way to build real classroom experience while you complete your coursework.

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled in, or willing to enroll in, early childhood education coursework (at least 6 units, per state licensing requirements)
• Comfortable working with young children, including children with diverse needs and abilities
• Reliable, warm, and eager to grow into a teaching role over time

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Support daily classroom activities alongside a lead teacher
• Help with transitions, meals, and routines
• Provide one-on-one attention to children as directed
• Assist with classroom setup and cleanup
• Observe and learn inclusive teaching practices in a program that integrates speech, occupational, and behavioral therapy alongside early education.
