About The Position

Dwight School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Clubhouse Teacher to join our Early Childhood team. Clubhouse is our extended-day program for children ages 3-5 years old, offering a joyful, engaging afternoon experience from 2:30–5:30 pm following our full-day preschool program. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about early childhood development and eager to create a warm, play-based environment.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree or educational qualification from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one year of early childhood teaching experience in public/independent schools or other classroom environments.
  • Ability to support the whole child, attending to social-emotional needs while fostering cognitive growth and foundational academic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a teaching team, including sharing responsibilities, communicating openly, and problem-solving together.
  • Patience, flexibility, and joyful engagement with young children.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including regular, professional communication with families.
  • Display a commitment to diversity and create a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging in approach to teaching and learning, as they are recognized and valued by Dwight School.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate, play-based activities for children ages 3-5 years old, with attention to the unique needs of an afternoon program following a full day of school.
  • Design and implement engaging learning centers and activities that reflect current best practices in early childhood education.
  • Build warm, consistent relationships with children to support their social-emotional development, self-regulation, and sense of belonging.
  • Collaborate closely with co-teachers and the Clubhouse team to plan activities, share observations, and maintain a consistent, positive classroom culture.
  • Communicate professionally with families regarding their child's day and development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment.
  • Uphold school policies and licensing requirements at all times.
