About The Position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Presales Systems Engineer to join their Networking team in California. This role is designated as 'Remote/Teleworker', meaning the primary work location will be from home. HPE Networking is a leader in AI-driven, next-generation networking solutions, focusing on campus, branch, mobility, and IoT to transform businesses with intelligent spaces and digital workspaces. The Presales Systems Engineer will provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions, manage pre-sales technical/functional support for clients, and ensure customer satisfaction. The role involves presenting and articulating the capabilities and values of HPE Solutions against competitors, working with Territory Managers to qualify opportunities, and converting leads into successful engagements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in networking infrastructure technologies, particularly in datacenter, campus, and distributed branch networks. This position requires strong sales support, consultative skills, and an expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies. The Systems Engineer will proactively support an opportunity pipeline, drive sales processes to closure, and collaborate on innovative, tailored solutions. They must be adept at gathering client data to tailor solutions and understand various delivery methods to anticipate client needs. This role combines technical expertise with business acumen to demonstrate the business value of HPE Networking solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering or related field OR significant experience in networking technical and pre-sales activities roles.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of technical professional, pre-sales/post-sales, work experience.
  • Extensive experience in Networking including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, security, SASE and Network Management platforms, both on Premises and in Cloud.
  • Experience in Network Access Security including HPE Aruba Clearpass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, Forescoute etc.
  • Experience in creating solution sales offerings spanning multiple product and service portfolios in a very competitive market.
  • Effective, articulate communicator with strong customer-facing skills and able to translate product knowledge into customer’s added business value.
  • Ability to work within a team in a very competitive market, maintaining a hands-on, customer first, approach towards business plan execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions.
  • Manage pre-sales technical / functional support for existing and prospective clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the technical sales process and solution deployment.
  • Present and articulate the capabilities and values of a HPE Solution as it relates to customer business requirements and versus competitors.
  • Work with HPE's Territory Managers to qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful engagements.
  • Consult with assigned Territory Manager to provide a comprehensive technical sales pitch to prospective clients.
  • Proactively support an opportunity pipeline and drive through the sales process to closure.
  • Lead in a team environment and collaborate on the development of innovative, tailored solutions for both clients and prospects.
  • Gather client data required to effectively tailor a solution.
  • Understand various ways a solution may be delivered and anticipate what will work best for a given client.
  • Create and define a Technological Roadmap on pre-assigned clients, with a focus on HPE Networking priority areas.
  • Create and document technology solutions and proposals designed to meet customer’s business requirements.
  • Implement and support customer Proof of Concept engagements.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive solution offerings to strategically position HPE products and highlight differentiators.
  • Interface with internal and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
  • Participate in proposal development and support technical aspects related to deal closure in complex and competitive deal pursuits.
  • Build and develop meaningful relationships based on technical expertise and business acumen.
  • Understand the HPE channel and create relationships with HPE partners to increase sales via the channel.
