About The Position

The Presale Systems Engineer partners closely with customers and the sales team, delivering customer-driven, world-class, leading-edge, end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government, and non first responder customers within the US Federal Government Civilian and Law Enforcement customer base. Working within a team of sales, service, engineering, and technical support resources, the Presale Systems Engineer is the overall owner of a solution’s technical design, ensuring we meet our customers’ needs. The engineering team supports the entire ecosystem and concentrates on the following mission-critical technologies at various levels of complexity: Public safety grade mobile voice and data networks, Advanced mobile devices, Public safety mobile broadband networks and devices, Integrated command and control software, Mobile and fixed video solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering strongly desired OR 3+ years of experience in one of the following: Sales, Pre Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Public Safety experience
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a necessary security clearance as required by government contract
• Present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences and makes them understandable
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with wireless communications fundamentals and voice/data architectures - both public and private (e.g. APCO P25, LTE, 802.11, 3GPP 4G/5G, FirstNet/Frontline)
• Experience with Cloud (FedRAMP), IP networking architecture, protocols and security
• Knowledge of RF coverage predictions, microwave design, traffic/capacity modeling, and related toolsets
