About The Position

Motorola Solutions is a global provider of technologies designed to help keep people safer. Its Government & Public Safety Communications group designs and implements mission-critical digital mobile communication systems. The Presales Systems Engineer Intern works closely with Communication Systems Engineers to design radio communication solutions that meet customer requirements, from early concept through implementation. Engineers consult with customers, develop technical solutions, and take responsibility for their professional and technical development. The position is remote, full-time, Monday through Friday, with travel under 25%. Preferred candidates live in the Northeast/New England.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree, with an expected graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Returning to school in Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with customers.
• Experience or knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking.
• Experience or knowledge of communications networks such as MPLS, Ethernet, and TCP/IP.
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/or Amateur Radio/HAM.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, product development, and project management to develop technical strategies and customer proposals presenting Motorola Solutions’ solutions.
• Coordinate the design and planning of customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support during the presales phase.
• Support coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, system architecture design, equipment selection, proposal generation, and presentations to customers.
• Participate in implementation of solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for technical aspects of assigned projects from award through system acceptance, including implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Keep sales professionals and customers informed about Motorola Solutions’ latest technology offerings and their relevance to customer needs.
