About The Position

The Prepress Operator prepares digital files for printing by reviewing, correcting, and optimizing them to meet printing specifications. The role ensures files are properly formatted, color-calibrated, and proofed before production to support high-quality output and efficient press runs.

The operator reviews customer-supplied artwork, processes files using prepress software, generates proofs, conducts quality checks, prepares imposition layouts, and troubleshoots prepress issues. The role collaborates with designers, production teams, and press operators to support the workflow from file receipt through press production. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of related job experience.
• Strong knowledge of print production processes, including offset, digital, flexo, and large format.
• Understanding of CMYK, spot colors, and ICC color profiles.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certificate in Graphic Design.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare customer-supplied artwork for printing, ensuring files meet technical and design requirements.
• Operate prepress software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Kodak Prinergy, to process and optimize files.
• Generate proofs and conduct quality checks for accuracy, color fidelity, and compliance with client specifications.
• Prepare imposition layouts for printing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues arising during the prepress process.
• Collaborate with designers, production teams, and press operators to ensure a smooth workflow from file receipt to press.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
