About The Position

Prepared Food Team Members are responsible for producing consistent, high-quality food; meeting or exceeding all standards of food safety and minimizing waste. This role involves preparing a variety of food items such as soups, salads, and entrees, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards. Team members will also be responsible for packaging, labeling, and displaying food attractively, maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment, and assisting with inventory and food rotation programs. The position requires active participation in teamwork and communication with other departments to ensure excellent service and food quality. Additionally, team members must maintain focus and pace to complete tasks in a timely manner and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service by projecting a friendly, outgoing presence and maintaining a respectful demeanor at all times
  • Ability to handle multiple demands, remain calm, think quickly, prioritize effectively, and problem solve within established guidelines
  • Ability to work well with others in a cooperative environment where teamwork, compassion and constant communication are essential
  • Ability to meet expectations of regular, predictable attendance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to maintain current food handler card
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • One year of commercial kitchen experience highly preferred
  • Previous prepared foods experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follows recipes to prepare and assemble ingredients to create soups, salads, and entrees with consistency, and quality
  • Prepares food (cut, chop, slice, dice, mix, etc.) as trained in accordance with the deli’s needs
  • Follows recipes consistently to ensure quality of product
  • Packages, wraps and labels food accurately as trained
  • Displays food attractively in case when needed
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of Blue Room including walk-in
  • Assists in training BOH workers when needed
  • Adheres to pull dates and pull schedules
  • Assists in inventory
  • Actively participates in all food rotation programs
  • Works cooperatively with other departments of the deli to ensure great service and food
  • Maintains focus and pace to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Assists in cleaning work areas and equipment as needed, including sweeping and mopping the Blue Room
  • Informs manager of any equipment issues/concerns
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety standards, including the use of cut gloves when needed
  • Communicates concerns and ideas to manager
  • Other tasks as assigned
