About The Position

As a Prep Technician at BASF ECMS, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, cleaning, and maintaining equipment related to burn, blend, and sample processes. This role involves moving and dumping drums, operating various chemical batch process equipment safely, and keeping accurate Batch/Run sheets for metal control. You will also perform general maintenance, including repairing mechanical systems, troubleshooting failures, performing preventative maintenance, and detecting the need for repairs. The position requires the ability to understand processes, solve problems, and troubleshoot. Additionally, you will operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, scissor lifts, tractors, and skid steers. Adherence to all safety regulations, maintaining housekeeping standards, and the ability to work well with others are essential. Knowledge of safety regulations in a chemical operation and proper material handling procedures is also required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, required
0 to 5 years Industrial/Mechanical maintenance experience
Ability to understand a process and ability to solve problems and troubleshoot.
Knowledge of safety regulations associated with a chemical operation.
Knowledge of proper material handling procedures.
Ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, monitor, clean and maintain equipment related to burn, blend, and sample processes.
Move and dump drums.
Operate various chemical batch process equipment in a safe manner.
Keep accurate Batch/Run sheets to maintain good metal control.
Repair mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
Detect and report the need for maintenance repairs.
Operate mobile equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, man lift, scissor lift, tractor and skid steer.
Follow all safety regulations.
Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in work area.
