Requirements
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, temperature controls, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to read and follow recipes, production sheets, and written instructions.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Culinary team.
- Ability to maintain food quality and consistency in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
- Food Handler Certification or ServSafe Certification, where required by law.
Nice To Haves
- Previous kitchen, food preparation, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and safe kitchen practices preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, portioning, measuring, and organizing food products according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
- Setting up, stocking, organizing, and breaking down your assigned kitchen workstation to support efficient service.
- Maintaining proper food rotation, labeling, storage, cooling, and temperature controls while following all food safety guidelines.
- Keeping kitchen workstations, storage areas, equipment, utensils, floors, and food preparation areas clean, organized, and sanitized throughout every shift.
- Safely operating kitchen equipment and using knives, mixers, slicers, food processors, and other culinary tools according to established procedures.
- Supporting Line Cooks, Sous Chefs, and Culinary leadership by ensuring ingredients are prepared and available for service.
- Monitoring food quality and freshness while minimizing waste and supporting food cost initiatives.
- Communicating maintenance concerns, supply needs, and operational issues promptly to Culinary leadership.
- Working collaboratively with fellow Culinary team members to maintain an efficient, organized, and guest-focused kitchen.
- Responding professionally to requests while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Taking pride in preparing the foundation for exceptional meals that create memorable guest experiences.
