About The Position

This position will support all areas of the Gatherings Café, including restaurant/catering services as well as MAIC programs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in the foodservice industry.
  • Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Executing opening and closing duties.
  • Arrive to work at your scheduled time, ready to work.
  • Completing recipes as listed in the café recipe book.
  • Completing prep list starting with the greatest needs for café prep.
  • Maintaining a clean workstation.
  • Promptly notifying the Head Chef or Sous Chef of old food, if product is running low or out.
  • Willing to participate in other BOH roles if directed by the Head Chef.
  • Arrive to work with proper hygiene and kitchen attire according to the Minneapolis American Indian Center’s Staff Handbook.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
