About The Position

We're hiring detail-oriented, hospitality-driven prep cooks to join our back-of-house team as we open Deepwell — the newest full-service restaurant from the Kindred Hospitality group. This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment suited to cooks who take pride in consistency, precision, and setting the kitchen up for a great service. We offer a challenging workplace for individuals interested in furthering their knowledge in the culinary world. Deepwell is an upscale casual restaurant and part of a growing local restaurant group, with several other restaurants in the area owned by Joe & Katy Kindred. Our culinary team has earned five James Beard Foundation nominations for Best Chef: Southeast along with other national and local accolades. We want to continue to grow and push the boundaries of food and teamwork.

Requirements

Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred, or a strong willingness to learn
Solid knife skills and working knowledge of food safety practices
Ability to follow recipes and execute consistently
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team
Flexibility to work morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and menu components according to recipes and kitchen standards
Practice proper knife skills, portioning, and food handling techniques
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep station
Label, date, and rotate stock following proper food safety procedures
Assist line cooks during service as needed
Communicate with kitchen leadership regarding inventory and prep needs
Follow all health department and food safety guidelines
Support a fast-paced, detail-oriented kitchen environment during high-volume shifts
