About The Position

We’re excited to bring Mia’s Table to Sugar Land and are currently building our opening team ahead of our anticipated late June 2026 opening! At Mia’s Table, we believe great food brings people together. Known for our Southern comfort food, warm hospitality, and family-friendly atmosphere, Mia’s Table is more than just a restaurant — it’s a place where guests feel at home. As we prepare to open our newest location, we’re looking for dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Prep Cooks who take pride in quality, consistency, and teamwork. Prep Cooks are an essential part of our kitchen operations and play a major role in setting the kitchen team up for success each day. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
  • Ability to follow recipes and prep procedures accurately
  • Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects when needed
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Flexible availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety procedures
  • Food Handler Certification required

Responsibilities

  • Preparing ingredients including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, mixing recipes, and preparing sauces and dressings
  • Following Mia’s Table recipes, prep procedures, and portion standards
  • Assisting with cooking and preparing food items as needed
  • Setting up and stocking kitchen stations for service
  • Properly labeling, dating, rotating, and storing food products
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and prep areas
  • Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitoring inventory levels and communicating product needs to Kitchen Leads and Managers
  • Assisting with receiving and stocking deliveries
  • Following all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines
  • Working closely with cooks, dishwashers, and kitchen leadership to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintaining a sense of urgency while staying organized and detail-oriented
