About The Position
Monarch Landing is recruiting for a hospitality-focused Prep Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department. Is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of six (6) months of high-volume food prep experience in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution is required.
- Certificate in food service sanitation (ServSafe or equivalent) required within 90 days of hire date.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
- Skill in proper knife handling techniques.
- Flu Vaccination required
Responsibilities
- Sets up station according to daily production needs.
- Prepares the ingredients for meals including chopping fruits and vegetables, preparing meats, and measuring items.
- Labels and puts away inventory.
- Assists in preparing food products as scheduled in the cycle menu to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner service and any catering or other special functions.
- Follows proper handling, preparation, and holding guidelines, takes temperatures at regular intervals, and maintains foods in sufficient quantities while minimizing over-production and waste.
- Follows kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.
