About The Position

Major Food Group is hiring Prep Cooks to join our team at Contessa! Contessa, inspired by the old-world resorts and the lasting estates of Italy, features cuisine embodying the effortless elegance of the Trattorias of Northern Italy. Offering all-day dining with breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner and perfectly crafted cocktails, the menus showcase a range of selections from imported salumi and house made fresh pasta to dry aged Chianina Beef. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic to help set and maintain the highest standards of cuisine and professionalism. Full-time open availability required.

Requirements

Team-orientated and positive attitude
Strong communication skills a must

Nice To Haves

Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
