Prep Cook - Full Time with Benefits
About The Position
Stoltzfus Meats is looking for a dependable and organized Full-Time Prep Cook to help keep our kitchen prepared and running smoothly. In this role, you will prepare ingredients, portion food, organize products, and support our cooks and kitchen team throughout the day. This is a full-time position offering flexibility in scheduling. Availability on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays is required, but we can offer flexibility when building the remainder of your weekly schedule. Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but not required. We are willing to train someone who is dependable, works efficiently, and takes pride in doing things the right way.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food preparation experience is preferred, but not required
- Available to work Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
- Dependable and ready to work as part of a team
- Able to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures
- Comfortable working at a steady pace in a busy kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Willing to learn and develop food preparation and kitchen skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen procedures
- Wash, chop, portion, and organize food items for service
- Measure and portion ingredients accurately and consistently
- Assist cooks with food preparation and other kitchen tasks
- Keep preparation areas clean, organized, and ready for use
- Properly store ingredients and follow product rotation procedures
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties
- Work with speed and efficiency while maintaining quality
- Support kitchen team members and help keep daily operations moving
