About The Position

Under the supervision or direction of a Kitchen Supervisor or Chef, the Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and dishes for final execution or firing by chefs and supervisors as well as packaging and preparing food for delivery to event venues. Additionally, the Prep Cook will assist in the kitchen with any required tasks including, but not limited to, stocking of food and other items, cleaning, and caring for kitchen equipment while practicing safe food handling. Energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the work, the people, and the customers are key to achieving success in this role.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food preparation in a kitchen setting required
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to eight (8) hours or more in a fast-paced environment requiring movement and the ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Catering and/or banquet experience a plus
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish and English) language skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clean, peel, cut, and otherwise prepare a variety of foods
  • Assemble dishes for final execution or firing by a Kitchen Supervisor or Chef
  • Set up workstations and ingredients adhering to all food service regulatory and hygiene requirements
  • Prepare and package food items and equipment for delivery to event venues
  • Assist in the organization and stocking of the kitchen and event prep areas as needed
  • Assist with ensuring kitchen and serving equipment is maintained appropriate and it appropriate working order
  • Other duties as assigned
