About The Position

We are seeking a Prep Cook to join our culinary team at the St. James Hotel. As a Prep Cook, you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to our seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. If you have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion made from scratch foods for daily service
Follow State, Federal and Local food safety guidelines
Be able to follow recipes accurately, including changing quantities, of batched recipes
Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
Daily preparation of orders as needed on the line.
